For today’s Sagittarius Full Moon…
…we’re going to look at your astrology,{{ subscriber.first_name }}, to identify potential obstructions to your life’s flow and purpose.
This will lay the groundwork for the Summer Solstice next week, when we’ll be using this info to work some potent manifestation.
First, you’ll need to grab your birth chart.
Look to see which house is ruled by Sagittarius, because this is an area of your life being brought into focus by the Full Moon.
Sagittarius energy can help us home in on our life’s unique trajectory, on the overarching (and sometimes a tad idealistic) beliefs that motivate us to learn, grow, and keep movin’ forward.
I’ve found that when this energy is thwarted, its fire can turn inward, causing us to feel restless, impatient, and angry, perhaps even cynical or depressed, because these vital drives within us need to be expressed in order for us to feel fully alive.
The Full Moon can shed reflective light on this area, illuminating obstructions to our life’s creative flow and our sense of purpose.
Once you’ve identified which house is ruled by Sagittarius in your chart…
…we’re going to use simple keywords to understand the core needs within this area of your life, and whether they’re being met.
If you want a simple worksheet that you can fill out as we go, download that here.
(Note: The following keywords come from Stephen Arroyo’s Chart Interpretation Handbook. While these are not the only way to view the houses, they’re quite useful!)
There are different ways to classify the houses, and we’re going to look at two.
The first is the mode of the house.
Angular houses (1, 4, 7, 10) are associated with action.
Succedent houses (2, 5, 8, 11) are associated with security.
Cadent houses (3, 6, 9, 12) are associated with learning.
If you’re using the worksheet, fill in the mode of your Sagittarius-ruled house.
The second classification we’ll be using is the element.
The water houses (4, 8, 12) are associated with the emotions and the soul. (Also known as the psychic trinity.)
The earth houses (2, 6, 10) are associated with the material world. (Also known as the trinity of wealth.)
The fire houses (1, 5, 9) are associated with our identity. (Also known as the trinity of life.)
The air houses (3, 7, 11) are associated with the intellect and relationships. (Also known as the trinity of relationship.)
If you’re using the worksheet, fill in the element of your Sagittarius-ruled house.
Looking at the combination of keywords for both the mode and element of this house, what does your intuition tell you about this area of your life and how well your needs are being met here?
For instance, if Sagittarius rules your eighth house, we have security + emotions + soul.
If you were to look at security on an emotional level or a soul/spiritual level, what comes up for you? Is that something you feel like you’re experiencing right now?
Maybe emotional security feels difficult to cultivate, so this inspires you to look for a therapist.
Perhaps you’ve been feeling flighty and unfocused, and this inspires you to incorporate some grounding techniques into your daily spiritual practice.
Or let’s say Sagittarius rules your sixth house, so we have learning + material world.
Is there a gap in knowledge related to practical matters (work or health being two prime examples) that presents a routine sticking point for you, somewhere your needs aren’t being honored?
Maybe you want to start getting your writing out there, but you keep putting off learning how to create blog posts on your website.
Or perhaps your low back gives you trouble, and you keep meaning to look up how to do those exercises your friend mentioned, but you haven’t gotten around to it yet.
Jot down any intuitive hits on the worksheet, focusing on:
How well am I meeting my needs in this area?
What would help me better honor these needs?
Next Tuesday, we’ll look at the energetics of Summer Solstice, and why it’s an especially potent time for energy to be channeled from earth and sky and back again…
…a powerful exchange when we want to manifest expansive potentials in the here and now of our daily life.
The needs you’ve unearthed today will provide the springboard for our manifestation work next week.
Happy Full Moon!
