Yesterday, we left Tansy True, occult detective, poring over a worn notebook discovered at a roadside altar.
Before we unpack our final clue, today is the last day to get my entire shop full of Jungian Magic courses and guides for only 99 buckaroos.
Back to the case…
Late last night, Tansy got a panicked phone call from [NAME REDACTED].
[NAME REDACTED] had recently unearthed an old cedar chest in their grandmother’s attic and threw it up on Craigslist. Shortly after, they began having terrifyingly lifelike nightmares—until something told them to reopen the trunk.
Inside, beneath a false bottom, was a clamshell case of cassette tapes labeled Correspondence Course for the Dreaming Mind. [NAME REDACTED] was more than happy to hand it over to Tansy for further investigation.
The Fourth Clue
Case File #004: Dream Logic + Timeline Enchantment
Location: Private residence, Pacific Northwest
Tansy’s Notes:
Seven tapes and a faded instructional booklet marked For Internal Use Only. Tape #1 started playing as soon as I inserted it into the deck. I didn’t push play. The case smells faintly of cedar and mildew.

Dream snippet: After a lengthy tour, the woman asks if we’d like to start working or if we want to continue on the tour. I reply that we’d like to work, and she seems irritated by this and begins showing us the many art supplies available.
A dream interpretation lens I’d like you to play with: Everyone in the dream is, on some level, you. They can also represent an outer person, but nine times out of ten, you’ll get more useful information by focusing on what the dream is showing you regarding:
- How you feel toward or how you relate to this person (often the dream will reveal aspects your ego isn’t seeing)
- How a version of this person exists in your own psyche (called an imago in psychology)
Going back to my dream snippet, I have an inner part who gets irritated when I don’t want to continue the tour. This part likes showing how much funding it has, how expensive all of the supplies are, and so on, but my dream ego simply wants to begin working. Not surprisingly, this has direct relevance to my waking life…
Tansy’s Notes, Part 2:
The booklet labeled “Internal Use Only” contained lined pages at the back for notes with the following handwritten excerpt.
Excerpt
- Using dream material in conjunction with spellcasting to select an optimal future timeline
- Identifying which timeline a dream is nudging you toward and using spells to help it along (see below)
- This combo of dreams + spells allows you to work with, not against, your innate psychic currents.
With present-tense spells, if you want a desired future state to happen now, you state the intention as if it’s already happening in order to piggyback on the unconscious’ superpower to simultaneously exist now and in the future.
Think of it as emphasizing a particular timeline—namely, the timeline that matches your desired outcome.
Given that the unconscious holds all potential, your intention is like a fishing line, pulling that potential—that one right there—to the surface, where it can superse other potentials.
