The Clue in the Crumbling Tower

Yesterday’s clue led Tansy True to the crumbling Von Franz Building, hours before the bulldozers arrived. The arrival of the demolition crew might’ve signaled a dead end—but Tansy never gives up that easily.

A single piece of parchment fluttered from a window as she dashed down the alley. Coincidence or message??

Psst…Don’t forget to grab your Real Magic Mega Bundle—my entire shop for only $99—before it get bulldozed off the map.

And now, let’s find out what that parchment said…

The Third Clue

Case File #003: Astral Interference

Location: Alley behind the Von Franz Building; parchment ejected from thirteenth-story window

Tansy’s Notes: Handwritten margin note reads: “Recovered via automatic writing after waking from a lucid dream.” No initials, no signature. Was the parchment’s appearance mere coincidence…or is someone sending a message?

Everything we experience in the world of the five senses has a corollary on the astral plane. But the astral is a highly mutable realm where thought and intention can radically alter an energy’s form or trajectory.

Without a clear focus, it’s far too easy for the energy to flow into other states and forms.

By getting clear on what you want, you create, in essence, a container on the astral for relevant energies to gather and cohere. (And if this sounds a lot like casting a magic circle in the physical realm, you’ve read my mind!)

Tansy’s Notes, Part 2:

This reminds me of a notebook I found, hidden behind a roadside altar just outside Marfa, Texas, back in 2009.

Chaos magician Peter J. Carroll pinpoints a useful sweet spot by framing magic in terms of probabilities. If you’re casting a spell to turn your house into a chicken, the likelihood of that happening without magic is zero, right? So, even with magic, that’s a tough nut to crack.

On the other hand, the likelihood that you can lift your arm in the air, assuming you have mobility in that arm, is closer to 100%. Why expend magical effort when you can just…move your arm?

You’re looking for something in the 50% to 70% probability range. Not so impossible that you’d need an entire cosmos’ worth of energy to shift the needle and not so done-deal that you’re wasting magical effort where it isn’t needed.

“Half of the skill in magick consists of identifying probabilities worth enhancing.” Peter J. Carroll

Last week, you had the opportunity to work with an unwanted thought or feeling during an Archetypal Attunement inspired by the process of projective identification.
Remember, projective identification involves taking an unwanted thought or feeling and casting it “out there.” This quality is then “metabolized” by someone else, rendering it less threatening, which makes it easier to take back and integrate within ourselves….

This month, we’ve been talking about boundaries in a more esoteric sense, as the edges of a “liminal realm” where things are flexible and more malleable to our magical interventions.
Before we look at your astrological chart, I want to connect what we’ve learned so far with a practical, here-and-now experience of boundaries.
